OBJECTIVE
To study the activity of an 2-aminoethanesulfonic acid derivative (LBC-527) in a model of reversible obstructive jaundice in rats.
MATERIAL AND METHODS
Mechanical jaundice was simulated in 40 white laboratory rats Wistar line by suturing the common bile duct to the anterior abdominal wall latex tourniquet (patent application No. 2021136063), after which, on the 7th day, decompression of the biliary tract was performed by crossing the tourniquet with its removal. Experimental animals, starting from day 7, were injected intravenously with LHT-527 and the reference drug Heptral at an average therapeutic dose, taking into account the interspecies transfer of doses for animals. On the 7, 10, 14, 21 days, the biochemical parameters of the blood and the macro- and microstructure of the liver were determined.
RESULTS
LBK-527 in the postoperative period after the resolution of obstructive jaundice leaded to the restoration of the liver structure from 10 days. The morphological structure of the liver was characterized by a decrease in lymphohistiocytic infiltration, proliferation of fibroblasts, proliferation of liver cells with the presence of binuclear hepatocytes. The biochemical parameters of the blood of animals in experimental animals ALT, AST and bilirubin reached the reference values of intact control by 14 days.
CONCLUSION
The derivative of 2-aminoethanesulfonic acid LBK-527 has a hepatoprotective effect comparable to the reference drug Heptral and can be used to create a drug for the treatment of liver damage in the postoperative period after obstructive jaundice.
